This lovely property is in the beautiful village of Lastros, Eastern Crete and was renovated/built in 2006-2007.
There are in fact two houses, one of 60m2 and the other of 50m2 with a shared courtyard of about 30m2. Both are included in the sale. The larger building is the older traditional house that was fully renovated. Around the same time, a smaller house of 50m2 was built next door. Both share a common, tiled, front courtyard with a metal exterior gate.
House 1
This two-storey 60m2 house has an open-plan fitted kitchen – living room, a storage area (or extra room) that was once the grape press, with the original wood ceiling, as well as a bathroom (toilet, sink and shower) on the ground floor.
A metal/wood spiral staircase leads up to the top floor where one finds two bedrooms with wooden floors and ceilings, and a large fully tiled terrace with another bathroom (toilet, sink and shower) accessed via the terrace.
The terrace is large and has breathtaking countryside views.
House 2
This 50m2 house is also made up of two floors with a kitchen – living area downstairs. A bedroom and WC (toilet and sink) are also found on this floor. A metal and wood staircase leads up to the top floor which has another bedroom, bathroom (toilet, sink and shower), as well as another area that can be used as extra living space or as another bedroom.
Both houses are tiled throughout except for the wooden floors in the bedrooms of the bigger house. There are aluminum double glazed windows with shutters, and doors.
The property needs some insulation work done, and repairs to some walls where there are some damp spots, as well as paint on the interior and exterior. Otherwise, it is in very good condition.
Lastros has a tavern, and one or two kafeneios. It is also only 8km from the fishing village of Mochlos which has several popular restaurants and beaches.
