VRACHASI

A village with friendly locals and cobbled roads worth exploring

The village of Vrahassi is a charming little mountain village on the way from Malia to Neapoli. It is 43 kms from Heraklion and 21 kms from Aghios Nikolaos with countryside, hill and mountain views. The history of Vrachasi is reflected in its Venetian and Turkish architecture and the people are very proud of their village and its past.

It is a quiet peaceful village with some taverns on the town square that look out over a beautiful valley. It’s worth taking a walk through the cobbled roads and paths to take some photos and to see many old houses, some ruins and many that have been renovated into lovely homes. The village is green with flowers, friendly locals, and great views.

The village also has a supermarket and cafeneions.
