This lovely village house is perched at the top of the village of Houmeriako. It has an uninterrupted view of the village below, Limnes village in the distance, and the mountains.
It is in a decent condition and needs repairs to the roof, new plastering, new kitchen and bathroom and repairs or replacement of doors and windows. The top floor was inhabited until 2017.
The entrance to the top floor is on the side, up a small walkway. The main door opens into a wide corridor. The bathroom and laundry are currently at the end of this corridor. On the left is a kitchen and storage room and on the right are two rooms with access to a balcony with amazing village and mountain views. One room was used as a bedroom and the other as a living room.
The bottom floor is directly accessed from the road. It is separated by a stone wall and was used as storage and stable areas. These can be converted into additional living areas or into parking space for two vehicles.
This is a perfect location for a genuine Cretan country home with many village squares and churches, some shops, taverns and kafeneion. It is only a 5 minute drive to the town of Neapolis which has all services including a regular bus service between Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Ierapetra and Sitia . The villages of Limnes and Latsida are also about 6 minutes away by car and boast some of the most well-known tavernas and offer excellent local dishes.
