2 STONE COTTAGES FOR REFURBISHMENT WITH COURTYARD AND GARDEN
These two stone houses were renovated from a ruin, but only in a most basic way. However they have water, electric, sanitary facilities, TV and electric points and both can be habitable with, at the very least, some cleaning and painting.
Located at the end of a small lane at the edge of the village, but close to the centre, the total size of the property is 169m2 on a plot of 280m2 and is divided into two independent cottages. There is a private entry cobbled and shady courtyard which has the feature of the original stone oven.
Cottage 1: Entering into a tiled room with sink and kitchen cupboards and exit out to the garden. The small sitting room off the kitchen has the original wooden steps up to an air conditioned bedroom with wooden floors and there is a bathroom with bath, sink and toilet.
The garden has grown rather wild but has a Jacaranda tree, Almond trees, roses, geraniums and other shrubs. From the end of the garden there is a view down the valley to the sea.
Cottage 2: Entry into a tiled floor kitchen with washing machine, fridge, sink unit, kitchen cupboards with worktop, gas hob and extractor fan. The rear L-shaped room is divided from the kitchen by a breeze block wall and so the kitchen could be expanded. This rear room has been used as a store shed and has concrete floor and part of the ceiling is corrugated iron. The rest of the ceiling, including that over the kitchen is the original reed ceiling, with concrete on top.
The sitting room is a comfortable size and has two built in-benches, concrete floors and a wooden ceiling. The original stone steps go up to the bedroom with wooden floors and a plank ceiling and ceiling fan. The bathroom has a bath, sink and toilet.
The house has attractive stable type doors and retains many of its original features such as stone door and window arches and frames, and niches.
A new rough track road has been made towards the rear of the property and so vehicle access can now be up to the end of the garden and parking there. Otherwise there is car access to the front of the house, but actual parking must be elsewhere so the lane is not blocked.
This property would make a good refurbishment project and has the advantage of the garden, a rarity with a village house.
