2-BEDROOM FURNISHED AWARD WINNING HOUSE
This 75m2 renovated stone house won the CNBC International Property Award in 2008. Back in 1897 the building had been a Cafeneion and is located in the rural village of Maronia.
Now it is two-storey house with a dining room divided from the kitchen with an arch, a living room with fireplace and two air conditioned bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with bath) and storage space. The house has combined modern living and comfort, with traditional architecture. The wooden front door is in a stone arch.
The master bedroom has a large terrace with panoramic views over the olive groves and vineyards in this rural and tranquil area of Crete. The entrance patio, shaded by a pergola, also looks out over the village and the countryside.
Floors and ceilings are wooden and the house is full of light.
The village is only 7 kms from Sitia and 140 kms from Heraklion Airport. However, Sitia airport has been developed and will shortly have international flights. The area around this village is natural and there are many historical sites.
